2010 Weston Cup Soccer Tournament - February 13-15, 2010 - Presidents' Day Weekend

Florida’s premier Presidents’ Day Weekend tournament for boys and girls teams. Last year approximately 300 teams from throughout Florida, multiple states, and five different countries competed at several facilities which included over 30 playing fields. Teams from outside Florida, including international teams from Canada and Brazil, participate each year. The tournament will offer three levels of competition: Premier, Classic, and Challenge for U9 through U19 boys and girls teams, plus a special U8 division (U9 Rising Stars). For 2010 we are expecting over 300 teams from out-of-state, across Florida, and internationally. Presidents’ Day Weekend festivities, including rides and games, will be held at nearby park facilities, making the overall weekend a festive event for all players, parents, family members and coaches.

Orange Classic 2009

The Orange Classic (formerly called the Junior Orange Bowl Soccer Tournament) started in 1980 with 16 teams and has grown to over 350 teams in 2008. This year we had teams from 27 states in the US and several teams from Canada. In addition to the wide spread representation of teams, the Orange Classic attracted over 300 college coaches from Div. 1, 2, 3 and NAIA schools. Our tournament has helped hundreds of girls showcase themselves and earn college scholarships to play soccer in college.

WESTON FC

The Weston Soccer Club has merged with the Weston Wild program to form the new Weston FC. The joint program held tryouts at the end of May, experiencing an overwhelming turnout with over 1,300 athletes trying out. The new Weston FC program is anticipating forming over 70 competitive teams, making it a “super program”. The merger was the result of months of diligent work on the part of both Weston AYSO/Weston Wild and Weston Soccer Club to create a positive partnership in an effort to best serve the soccer community. Weston FC continues to take the necessary steps to be the premier program, dedicated to meeting the needs of young athletes.

Tryout Dates

Per Rule 401.6 and as determined by the FYSA Board of Directors, the earliest date for tryouts for all age groups for the 2009-2010 seasonal year is MAY 26th, 2009 (Tuesday after Memorial Day).

401.6 TRY-OUTS
No club or organization affiliated with FYSA may
hold any try-out or any other activity, related to the formation of teams for
the next seasonal year involving players IN ANY AGE GROUP prior to the date set
for tryouts by the BOD. Later dates may be set regionally as approved by
the affiliates in that region.

Violations may result in the Club’s affiliation with FYSA being reviewed, and it may be denied by the BOD.

In coordination with AYSO, US Club, USYSA, and FYSA , South Florida Spring Fling, Inc. is proud to announce our third annual South Florida Youth Soccer Tournament. There have been many attempts to bring an Easter/Spring event to the area with most participants leaving unsatisfied. Our goal is to change all of that and we plan on doing it with some of the most experienced “soccer-people” in the area. Mike Weber, Jeff Kurzner, and Alan Dagen have worked together bringing about one of the most successful youth leagues in the country and they have joined together in South Florida Spring Fling (SF2) to try and do the same for the benefit of local non-profit soccer organizations. This year’s tournament will be held at Weston’s wonderful sports complexes and will receive applications from both boys and girls youth teams in competitive and recreational divisions from U9 to U18.
